CHESTER have won one Sevens title and come within a whisker of clinching a double.
The Hare Lane club were represented by two teams at the popular Caldy Sevens event, and the Mighty Minnows comfortably beat Wharfedale 45-0 in the final.

The Minnows squad included Tom Foden, Simon Abiero, Matt Sheen, Dave Leggett, Ed Chantler, and Stuart Coackley from Chester, unattached duo Guy Stringer and Ian Jordan, and Sedgeley Park trio Adam Newton, Steve Nutt and Jamie Alvaston.

But Chester were edged out 26-19 in the Plate Final against Manchester University who scored a last minute try.

Members of the Chester team included Ross White, Barry Holmes, John Piggot, Tom Chappell, James Farrell, Morne Banardo, Tom Pearson, Simon Love, Dave Connoly, and Sam Youdan.

Tom Foden was named Player of the Tournament, and he and Simon Abiero have been invited to play for Sale in this weekend's Glasgow Sevens Tournament.
