ATHLETICS: Few positives for West Cheshire
TOM BOOTH and Bryony Potter have both provided positive performances for West Cheshire AC.
A series of victories from the duo at Hull brightened up a disappointing day that saw the team relegated from the Northern Premier Division of the Young Athletes Track and Field League.
Tom won the U-17 men's 100m hurdles (15.5), the 400m hurdles (61.1), and the B 1500m steeplechase (5:37.0).
And Bryony battled to victory in the U-17 women's 300m in 42.6 seconds after second places in the 100m (13.3) and 200m (26.6).
Alice Jennings cleared 1-55m to win the U-15 girls high jump, and was first in the 100m (13.1), while Leah Ferrie won the 200m (27.3) and anchored the 4x100m relay team to success.
Danielle Erskine (second in 12.6) and Jenni Potter (first B in 12.9) negotiated the 75m hurdles, and Emma Johnson finished second in the B shot.
Laura Rigby (10.4) and Kelly Baker (11.2) secured maximum points for the U-13 girls in the 75m sprint, while Olivia Montez-Brown (2:47.8) and Laura Rigby (2:49.9) bagged wins from the 800m.
Laura (4.18m) and Olivia (3.92m) won their long jump contests, while Kelly Baker hit 8.42m to win the shot, with Kate Dodd second in the B shot (5.40m).
Lucy Earl, Laura Irwin, Abbie Ritchie, and Anna Titlow completed the U-13 squad.
Alex Haswell was second in the U-17 men's 800m in 2:06.5, and Danny Meadows clinched victory in the B race with 2:08.3.
Robbie Dagnall posted 12.2 in his 100m and 25.0 in the 200m, and Alex Haswell (5:20.3) was second in the 1500m steeplechase.
Jack Titlow spun the discus to 27.97m alongside Connor Arden (15.73m), and Jack hit 8.60m in the shot and 26.57m in the javelin with Danny Meadows (21.61m).
Alex Williams (12.5) and Adam Howell (12.9) were second in their U-15 100m races, while Stephen Jones (third 25.8) and Joseph O'Riordan (second 27.4) competed in the 200m.
David Donkin (third 60.4) and Charlie Klempson (second 62.3) rounded the 400m, while Adam Howell (2:17.6) and Tadgh Gregory (2:40.6) covered 800m. Liam Renton (third 4:33.3) and Charlie Klempson (5:37.3) ran in the 1500m.
Stephen Jones won the long jump (4.89m) with David Donkin (4.42m) second; Adam Howell (1-50m) was second in the high jump. Joseph O'Riordan won the B event with 1-50m, and Sam Rimmer posted 15.7 in the B 80m hurdles for second position.
Jack Prince (13.9) and Leon Langmead (15.6) were second and third in the U-13 100m, while Jack (29.0) and Yousef Khalifa (31.4) finished third in the 200m.
Chris McCartney and Joel Langmead covered the 800m, and Yousef (1-25m) and Chris (1-25m) finished third and second B respectively in the high jump.
