Dave Cunliffe, of Glen Road, Great Sutton, may work for an electricals firm by day, but having written more than 400 short stories he dreams of one day becoming a published author.
His dream is creeping ever nearer as the first of these short stor
ies, The Eyes of Evil – which coincidentally shares its plotline with that of The Eye, a Hollywood hit starring Jessica Alba – has now been released.
Dave, 42, who works for Alembic Products on River Lane, Saltney, said: "I don't get any of this writer's block.
"I can write a short story in three hours."
Educated at Sutton Comprehensive School, Ellesmere Port, Dave has always had a love of English but he had not elaborated on this until a strong vision of a woman in the road came to him while driving.
"After that the stories and ideas just kept coming," he said.
"I can see everything the characters wear and describe everything about them."
Dave, who formerly worked as a warehouse supervisor at Vauxhall's in Ellesmere Port, has written mostly thriller stories but still makes time to pen the odd comedy tale.
He has recently had his worked professionally typed up, and Dave now hopes a publisher will find the time to take his work on board.
