A MAN and a woman have been arrested following an armed police siege on a Chester estate.
Officers were called out to Lincoln Road, Blacon, Chester, shortly after 9am on Wednesday following reports of a man brandishing a firearm.

Armed officers surrounded the address and the area was cordoned off. The siege was brought to an end at 10.30am and an investigation is now underway.

Cheshire Constabulary Spokeswoman Rachel Hayes said: "At 9.05am officers attended an address on Lincoln Road, Chester, as a result of information that a man had been seen with a firearm.

"Several officers attended the address including firearms officers and several people have been detained. No officers or members of the public were injured."

Several people were detained after the siege and a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm. A 20-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis. Both are from the Blacon area.

It is still unclear how the incident started or what firearm was involved.
