Two masked men stormed into a restaurant in Greater Manchester and assaulted a female employee during an attempted robbery, police said.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which took place at the Beefeater Heaton Park Hotel on Middleton Road, Higher Blackley.

One of the men grabbed the woman by her hair and hit her in the face while demanding cash.

The other offender kicked open an office door and stole an envelope containing keys. They did not manage to access the safe.

The men were both white and in their mid 20s.
