Fire chiefs have launched an investigation into a large blaze which destroyed a three-storey building in Bolton town centre.
About 50 firefighters were called to the Copyplan site on Bradshawgate after the blaze broke out at about 2.50am on Thursday.

Flames destroyed the roof of the warehouse-type complex, next to a Shell petrol station and surrounded by shops and other premises.

Fire crews used aerial appliances to damp down the flames and pumps to pour water on the smouldering wreck.

Plumes of smoke from the raging blaze could be seen from miles around at its height.

There were no reports of casualties, said a spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.

Offices at Copyplan, a stationery supplier, and a martial arts academy and a beauty salon housed within the premises were all gutted.

The cause of the blaze is not known.

Firefighters continue to hose down the smoking shell of the building, which remains unsafe to enter.
